Commercial Real Estate / Business Transactions Paralegal The candidate will work with an emphasis on title and survey review in our Real Estate & Business Transactions practice group. Will coordinate due diligence for real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, etc. Advanced title review, including, analysis and summary of title commitments, reports, abstracts, and surveys. Work with title companies through issuance of policies. Work with clients, lenders, and other parties to complete necessary steps in the transaction process. Research and analysis of deeds, title policies/endorsements, tax liens, judgments, and UCC filings. Draft and record a variety of documents, including, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements, etc. Prepare and distribute closing binders and closing checklists and coordinate the closing process for various real estate transactions. Draft and file transactional documents, including entity formations, resolutions, dissolutions, minutes, name changes, etc. Perform litigation and business history searches. Create and follow internal checklists. Supervise clerical staff who assist with various tasks. Oversee recording and monitor deadlines through tracking systems. Perform other duties as required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in paralegal or legal studies from regionally accredited college or university (exemplary experience may be substituted for this requirement). NALA Certification or NFPA Registration highly desired, advanced certification in Real Estate a bonus. Experience with business organizations transactions a plus. Must have 5+ years of transactional real estate experience with recent, heavy title & survey review experience in a law firm setting. Should have a high level of computer literacy, including proficiency in the complete Office Suite, Outlook, PDF programs, and document file management systems.
