HIPAA Privacy Manager The candidate oversees the development and implementation of organization-wide privacy principles, policies, and practices. Responsible for coordinating all organizational activities with privacy related implications. Advocates for patients by acting as their key advisor, handling disputes, and performing investigations of potential breaches. Oversees the organizationâ€™s Business Associate Agreements. Associates degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field required. Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferred. Certified Paralegal (CP) from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA);Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) from the Compliance Certification Board (CCB) preferred. 3 - 5 Years In a Legal, Health Information Management, and/or Corporate Compliance role in a health care organization required. Must have excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, analytical, multitasking, detail orientation, public speaking, and organizational skills. Should have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Working knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and current applicable federal, state, and local privacy laws required.
