Senior Contract Specialist Duties: Draft and review complex wholesale pharmaceutical distribution contracts, including amendments, renewals, and terminations, and other contracts related to transportation and logistics services. Consult on legal provisions within contracts, including identifying potential legal and business issues. Work with attorneys, key business stakeholders, and operational experts to resolve such issues. Actively participate in contract negotiations. Provide guidance on contracting standards. Identify risk, determine the level of risk, and develop contracting strategies to mitigate McKesson’s exposure to this risk. Monitor compliance with internal McKesson business and legal processes and policies. Recommend, develop, and implement contracting policies, procedures, and processes. Prepare contract summaries or issues lists to present to attorney, senior law leaders or customers for review, if applicable. Research developments related to key regulatory areas or other areas impacting the Retail National Accounts segment as may be requested by attorneys from time to time. Work with attorneys and other team members to review and update templates, including standard contract templates and amendment templates, as well as develop new templates. Prepare presentations for the attorneys and present to senior leaders, as applicable.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: 2 year Associates degree and/or Paralegal Certificate with 9+ years related work experience; or 4 year degree (Preferred) with 7+ years related work experience; or JD Degree with 4+ years related work experience. Excellent commercial contract drafting skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt quickly to ever changing timelines and changes in priority. Ability to work with larger team in seeking efficiencies for legal support. Aptitude to manage simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe. Prior healthcare regulatory experience, particularly knowledge and experience related to the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, is a plus.
