Senior Counsel/Assistant General Counsel
Duties: Provide legal advice and counsel with respect to the Agency domestic and international legal and business affairs. Work closely with all departments to develop and administer key business agreements, provide advice on Agency rules and policies and support for the Player Anti-Doping Program. Supervisory responsibilities for other members of the legal team as well. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of business contracts, including critical event agreements such as tournament title, sanction and site agreements, corporate and local sponsorship agreements, domestic and international television and media production, distribution and license agreements, website and mobile application agreements, vendor/service provider and consulting/contractor agreements. Consult Television and New Media Department on new business opportunities and management of multi-platform rights of multiple distributors on a global basis. Provide business and legal guidance regarding online marketing efforts, advertisements and promotions, Agency media regulations, distribution of content on web sites, social media platforms and other media related sources. Assist with administration of the Agency Anti-Doping Program, and provide support for the Association’s integrity monitoring program. Provide support in the development of the Association’s data and privacy law strategy. Coordinate, strategize and provide legal recommendations regarding risk/claims management and commercial litigation matters as needed. Perform legal research and participate in special projects.

Qualification and Experience Requirements: JD Degree with membership in good standing in at least one state Bar. If not admitted in Florida, must be willing to register as in-house counsel. 7+ years of relevant transactional legal experience and 3-5 years of experience developing and overseeing junior associates and support staff required. Prior experience in sports/entertainment, media licensing or sponsorship preferred. Experience with US privacy and data law, data governance and/or knowledge of social privacy issues, a plus. Must demonstrate superior drafting, negotiating, communication (both written and oral), analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work autonomously and handle a large, but diverse workload.
