The Federal Practice Group (FPG) is looking for a senior and junior level Associates for its federal employment law team.
FPG, based in Washington, D.C., represents federal employees before federal administrative forums including the U.S. EEOC, U.S. MSPB, and U.S. OSC, and less frequently, in U.S. district courts. The majority of the cases involve discrimination and/or whistleblower retaliation claims, although we also represent federal employees with regard to disciplinary actions, investigations, reasonable accommodations, and other personnel actions and processes.
We are seeking associates who are able to determine the best legal strategy for our clients, draft and prepare the relevant legal documents/forms, and advocate before administrative bodies and federal courts, including federal appellate courts. Strong time management and organizational skills are required to handle the high-volume of cases that will be assigned to any associate. The associate’s duties will also include maintaining frequent communication with clients, who vary in sophistication levels. FPG has a very high standard for our work product and client communication and we are looking for associates who expect excellence in themselves.
You must have 1-3 years experience in employment law for a junior level position and ideally more than 5 years experience for the senior level position. Exposure to representing federal employees is a plus. Good standing in a state bar is required.
Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and client generation. FPG is a family friendly firm, and offers flexibility to ensure work/life balance.
