Duties:

  • Tax Law:

    • Provide comprehensive legal counsel on income tax matters and related issues.
    • Collaborate with clients to develop effective tax strategies while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Estate Planning and Administration:

    • Manage estate planning services, including creating and overseeing trusts.
    • Advise clients on estate tax strategies to minimize liabilities.
    • Oversee estate and trust administration, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and tax obligations.
  • Small Business Legal Support:

    • Assist clients in forming corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
    • Draft and review business agreements such as operating and buy/sell agreements.
    • Provide ongoing legal counsel to small businesses, including during purchase or sale transactions.
    • Represent clients in legal matters to protect their interests throughout the business lifecycle.
  • Litigation Management:

    • Oversee corporate and estate litigation cases, ensuring effective representation.
    • Provide litigation support as needed, including preparing for court appearances and managing legal filings.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with senior partners and other team members to deliver high-quality legal representation.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to manage and expand a diverse caseload independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in tax law, estate planning and administration, and small business legal matters.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills for business agreements and legal documentation.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal advice that aligns with client goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
