Profile

Legal Assistant Duties: Enhances attorney effectiveness by case support in dynamic four attorney law firm. Organize and file correspondence, email & legal documents; confirmation of hearings, meeting deadlines; documenting actions; confirming case status with attorney. Prepares Agreements for Legal Services and collateral documents. Prepare Notices of Appearance, Withdrawal, and Substitution. Open, close & archive files. Assists in maintaining contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports. Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress.. Files billing records in case file, to facilitate communication with client regarding client account. Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses. Revise and format documents prepared by others. Enhances trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing trial & exhibits notebooks; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed; taking courtroom notes. Assist attorneys in trial/hearing preparation: trial notebooks, exhibit notebooks, and witness management. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, and. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: College Degree. Must have knowledge of: Word, Excel, Child Support worksheets, Legal Administration Skills, Litigation Support, Client Relationships, Proofreading, Excellent Speaking, Grammar & Writing, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Client Confidentiality.
