Executive Director The candidate will lead every aspect of the largest public defender in Oregon, operating primarily in Multnomah and Washington Counties. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. In addition, the Executive Director also represents the agency in contracting with the State of Oregon for public defense funds and on work groups involving the operation of the justice system. Define, with input from staff and the Board of Trustees, a vision for the future and the plans necessary to accomplish them. Should have demonstrated understanding of the operation and management of non-profit organizations. Demonstrated commitment to justice for marginalized communities and an understanding of root causes of injustice and oppression. Significant experience working with criminal justice stakeholders is needed. Should have current Oregon State Bar membership or willingness to take the state bar by February 2019 or attain bar membership through reciprocity.
