Senior Attorney - Mergers & Acquisitions Duties: Will be focused on transactions in Magellan’s business development group and crude oil business segment and will require provision of legal analysis, counsel, negotiation and documentation of a variety of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and commercial contracts and arrangements. Will managing the resolution of disputes within the crude oil business segment and counseling regarding strategic considerations and the attendant risks and benefits of different courses of action.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: JD Degree with strong academic credentials. Active license in good standing and membership in a state Bar association. The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co-workers, supervisors, internal and external customers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company’s intranet; availability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis; and the ability to work at the assigned job site. Relevant legal experience at a regionally or nationally recognized law firm or in-house legal department of a sizeable company (preferably in the energy industry). Excellent negotiation and oral and written communication and drafting skills, with ability to communicate legal subject matter to management and all levels of stakeholders. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and on an independent basis. Excellent interpersonal skills; must work well in fast-paced, highly collaborative, team environment. Excellent business judgment, ability to think strategically and give practical advice. Availability to work as needed on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis, the ability to maintain regular office hours and availability to travel from time to time.
