Counsel - Personal Risk Services
The candidate will provide legal support to a variety of underwriting disciplines to advance the worldwide underwriting activities of Chubb Personal Risk Services ("PRS"). Responsibilities include: assisting product development to provide legal review of personal lines products policy language (emphasis on homeowners, automobile, valuable articles, excess liability, yacht and flood). Will be assisting with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with existing and new laws/regulations governing personal lines insurance. Legal research on a variety of personal lines legal and regulatory issues, including digital initiatives. Assistance in connection with customer complaints, non-disclosure agreements, and cancellation/nonrenewal issues. Legal review of personal lines marketing material. Legal support for other areas of PRS business including risk consulting, agency operations and other services. Should have 5-7 years legal experience (outside of law school), preferably in a law firm or corporation. The ideal candidate will have substantial insurance knowledge (property/casualty; preferably personal lines), regulatory and compliance experience, business/legal/coverage experience (strong policy language development), strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills, analytical acumen, an ability to offer advice on complex issues to business professionals at every level of the organization, enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented, dynamic environment and a strong service-oriented disposition including the ability to multi-task. Should have Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, licensed to practice law in at least one state and ability to fulfill New Jersey in-house counsel registration requirements or NJ bar admission.
