Paralegal, Foreclosure Processor
The candidate will be responsible for drafting legal documents, client updates and communications, meeting numerous client deadlines (metrics), updating internal and external case management systems. Update the internal case management system (CaseAware) and complete assigned steps. Utilize and update client portals, as needed, to accept and integrate new referrals (such as Vendorscape, BKFS, Pacer, TEMPO, etc.) and reflect all client activities. Complete bankruptcy and military compliance checks. Draft, prepare, and review motions for relief, proof of claims, plan reviews, objections, transfer of claims, etc. Monitor attorney calendars, prepare for hearings, provide hearing results to the clients, monitor ECFs, and provide status updates. Conducts research on filing rules by county. Prepare check requests and fee approvals, as necessary. Communicate all events and developments to clients using portals, email and client preferred methods of communication (fax, mail, overnight, as appropriate.). Discuss any issues regarding cases with paralegals, attorneys and managing paralegal. Establish a strong follow-up system, which includes proper calendaring, to ensure deadlines are not missed. Request pertinent documents, fees, and related items from clients and third parties and follow-up on unfulfilled requests. Maintain and organize files. Scan, upload and update all documents to case management system and client portals. Mail out correspondence to debtors and clients. Runs CaseAware reports to track adherence to client deadlines.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have Associate degree in any related field. Should have 1+ year in a law firm environment. Should have knowledge of legal case management system preferred, especially CaseAware, Vendorscape, Tempo, BKFS, Pacer etc. Must have strong computer skills; Word, Excel and Outlook as well as general understanding of software systems to access and utilize client systems. Should have outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate with attorneys, staff and clients. Must possess a sense of urgency and a meticulous attention to detail. Should have ability to work independently and comfortably in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining constant focus on producing an excellent and accurate work product.

Management needs to make sure that everyone stays on the same page throughout all stages of working on a case. I also believe that our current office location needs to be downsized quite a bit.

Pros : Everyone was very helpful to me during my stay at this firm as an intern. I also found the front desk staff to be exceptional and very professional in all regards.
Cons : This firm is way too disorganized. Everyone is usually off doing their own thing, even during times when we should all be putting our heads together in preparation of a big case.
