ProfileParalegal, Intellectual Property The candidate work for Brands and Content Intellectual Property team, who will contribute to managing the Companyâ€™s extensive worldwide trademark portfolio, clearance and enforcement. Candidate must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the legal team to identify, present and discuss challenges early. Interacts with the department to manage prosecution, clearance and enforcement deadlines. Performs searches and summaries for titles and other trade- and service marks. Instructs foreign counsel on prosecution, clearance and enforcement matters. Drafts cease and desist letters, issues take down notices, tracks all enforcement matters, coordinates with internal and external partners on anti-counterfeiting measures. Assists in preparing presentations and reports on enforcement issues. Supports IP counsel in infringement/anti-counterfeiting matters, trademark oppositions and UDRP proceedings, including gathering evidence for all adversarial proceedings. Interacts with business units on trademark prosecution and enforcement matters. Participates in department to discuss issues and propose solutions to enhance practice. Reviews and approves invoices.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelorâ€™s degree or paralegal certificate. Should have 3 years of experience as a paralegal with trademark or intellectual property experience. Should have familiarity with domestic and foreign trademark practice and procedures. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be detail-oriented and attentive, with excellent organizational skills. Proficiency with trademark or general intellectual property practice is preferred. Knowledge of Word, Excel and trademark docketing systems (WebTMS preferred, or others that may include CPI, PATTSY, Anaqua, FoundationIP) is required. Must have experience with Saegis or similar trademark databases. Experience handling confidential and sensitive material is needed. Ability to work efficiently and effectively with a large volume of work is desired. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail is preferred.
