ProfileHerndon office of our client seeks immigration associate attorney with 1-2 years of experience. The candidate will serve in reading, writing, and research pertaining to various forms of affirmative and defensive forms of immigration relief (family based, humanitarian/asylum, waivers). Will meet with clients to spot issues, propose services, offer guidance, legal counsel, and case status updates. Meet with consultations (on a need basis) to do fact gathering, issue spotting, and propose services, fees and a price plan. Affidavit, Brief/Memo, and Cover letter prep for respective forms of relief. Appear before the Arlington and Baltimore Immigration Courts for Hearings, both preliminary and merits hearings. Appear before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for various interviews (residency, citizenship, marriage). Appear before the Arlington Asylum Office for asylum and fear interviews. Other miscellaneous attorney-related matters (contact opposing counsel or immigration court to coordinate on cases, prepare cases + packets for merits hearings, work alongside other attorneys or staff to build and develop cases). Must have people management skills and experience with strong administrative skills. Must be in a good standing with the licensing Bar.
