Duties: Assists the General Counsel on various moderate to highly complex legal activities, including franchise compliance and legal operations in support of the franchisor/franchisee relationship. Assist on occasion outside their normal day-to-day work scope as the legal team is called on to support special projects and corporate initiatives, working in coordination with colleagues in the Legal Department. Complete and review Franchise Agreements for accuracy, completeness, potential territory conflicts, type of office, signatures, effective date, addendums, and other details. Complete all information for new offices in CRM and create final version to be signed through Docu-Sign. Review completed Administrator Agreements for accuracy, completeness, effective date, and any other necessary attachments. Complete and review contract addendums/amendments and follow up on progress to ensure signatures are obtained. Maintain status of renewing franchise agreements, and coordinate renewals or terminations with Network Development team . Maintains communication with Delinquent Accounts in coordination with Finance, and follow up monthly until delinquency is resolved or sent to collections. Maintain all legal completed Franchise files. Prepare cease and desist communications for terminated franchisees using company brands and trademarks, and for various third parties infringing on the company’s brands and trademarks. Conducts in-depth legal research and analyzes law sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles and/or codes. Reviews and prepares written summaries of regulations or legislative bills. Assists in implementation of Legal related processes and technologies. Maintains statistical and documented information related to cases and/or Company issues. Works with appropriate departments/functions within the Company to ensure implementation of policies or actions when necessary. Responds to questions, subpoenas, requests for records, legal documentation/contracts and/or other requests from outside counsel and Company management. Disseminates requests and related information as required and/or directed. May review and analyze recommendations made by outside counsel. Obtains and communicates appropriate authorization when necessary for settlements. Coordinates reporting from outside counsel and consultants.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (accredited). Formal Paralegal education or completion of a Professional Paralegal Certification Program is preferred. 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
