Compliance Officer The candidate will oversee the Compliance Program. Will focus on compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, compliance with firm policies and procedures, and assurance that behavior in the organization meets firm’s standards of conduct. Organize and maintain firm compliance policies and procedures as well as the firm Compliance Manual and Code of Conduct in collaboration with the General Counsel. Assure that the Compliance Program effectively prevents and/or detects violations of law, regulations, firm policies and procedures, and the Code of Conduct. Maintain and supervise retaliation-free reporting channels, including firm’s toll-free telephone ethics hotline, e-mail, and the internet-based reporting system available to all firm Personnel. Develop and coordinate appropriate compliance training and education programs (including Fraud, Waste, and Abuse) for all firm Personnel working with firm and assure commitment to comply with all laws, regulations, company policies, and ethical requirements. Coordinate and assist legal counsel in all investigations, follow-up and, as applicable, resolution to investigations and other issues generated by the Compliance Program, including development of corrective action plans, as needed. Must have a JD from an accredited law school and a license to practice law (previous in-house counsel experience being highly desirable). Must possess a strong background in health care compliance (e.g., HIPAA, False Claims Act, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other federal and state laws and regulations). Should have a working knowledge of biology and genetics (scientific degree being highly desirable). Background in biotech/pharma/lab (previous lab experience being highly desirable) is a must.
