Legal Secretary
The candidate handles complex and specialized secretarial and clerical support activities related to the specific work and function of the timekeeper(s) to whom they are assigned, in a timely and accurate manner. Provides secretarial support to assignments including, but not limited to, transcribing tapes, typing correspondence, reports, memoranda and/or other documents (i.e., briefs and other pleadings, wills, closing documents, electronic filing etc.), submitting same for review; revising, proofreading, assembling and distributing prepared material as necessary in an accurate and timely manner. Communicates properly and promptly with BFCA personnel and external contacts at all times and must exhibit a high level of customer service. Reviews statements for billings received from the Accounting Department to clients for services rendered and completes complex clerical procedures in connection therewith. Originates correspondence as directed and assumes other responsibilities including to, reviewing and routing incoming correspondence, scheduling appointments, creating and maintaining files and indexes, screening and routing telephone calls, and receiving and directing clients, preparing expense reports, as well as, entering timekeepers as required. Develops and maintains well-organized and timely client files, resource materials and administrative files. Schedules and confirms appointments in a proactive manner. Should have High School Diploma or equivalent. 3 years of legal secretarial experience is required. Must possess the ability to learn specialty law terms i.e. real estate, environmental litigation, etc. Must be able to handle many priorities at one time, work well with others and have excellent communication skills.

I hope that management realizes how much it means to employees when they take the time out to connect on a personal level with them. Small things like that can make a big difference in the satisfaction of people working in the firm.

Pros : I found the salary and benefits here to be top of the market. Health insurance is affordable and the perks are great.
Cons : Management seems to be disconnected from associates and support staff. They don't do much to connect with us and aren't very accessible.
