Counsel 2 - Mortgage Banking
The candidate will be responsible for providing legal support to the consumer real estate lending operations. Providing legal advice to the company, conducting legal research projects, and acting as an advisor to business personnel in interpreting laws and regulations pertaining to the activities of mortgage loan originators. Must have 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Have Active State Bar membership. Should have experience preparing legal memoranda for senior attorneys and business leaders. The ability to research law and regulations and develop advice with respect to complex legal issues using the public as well as company websites and databases is required. Must have experience in the financial services industry, especially in banking and mortgage loan origination. Have strong attention to detail and accuracy skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. The ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters is needed. Must have the ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration. Must be effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team. Should have knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to one or more of the following: Privacy, Telemarketing, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and/or UDAAP. Must have an understanding of consumer mortgage transactions.
