Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Utilities Group in Harrisburg. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience, with an interest or background in litigation, appellate practice, regulatory compliance, administrative law, and energy law. The position will involve representing public utilities before state and federal regulatory agencies and appellate courts. Strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, and communication skills are required for this role.

Duties

  • Represent public utilities before state and federal regulatory agencies and appellate courts
  • Assist in litigation, regulatory compliance, administrative law, and energy law matters
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and other documents
  • Participate in case strategy development and provide recommendations to senior attorneys
  • Engage in hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
  • Assist with regulatory filings and compliance documentation
  • Provide advice to clients and assist in developing regulatory compliance strategies
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring adherence to deadlines and legal requirements

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience in litigation, appellate practice, regulatory compliance, administrative law, or energy law
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
  • Admission to additional jurisdictions (District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and/or West Virginia) is helpful but not required
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar
  • Additional Bar admissions in other states are a plus (but not required)
