Associate General Counsel The candidate will provide advice and support on a broad range of business and transaction matters including regulatory, fraud, abuse, and compliance issues. Review, draft and negotiate various agreements, including vendor agreements, real estate leases, employment agreements, professional services agreements, and other business agreements. Work in conjunction with various corporate departments, including compliance, medical affairs, risk management to review policies, patient issues, referral issues, and privacy/security concerns. Support Human Resources issues including but not limited to policy review, performance improvement plans, accommodation requests, and employment disputes. Manage disputes, claims, and contracting issues. Assist with all aspects of corporate legal affairs including credit and shareholder documents, Board of Director resolutions, and associated documentation. Track Federal and State legislative activity that affects the Company and the sector in which it operates. Distill complex issues into concise, relevant summaries for executive action. Conduct legal research as necessary to perform job duties. Provide general supervision of in-house paralegal staff. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the General Counsel.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have 3-7 years of health law and corporate experience, in a private law firm setting and/or in-house setting (in-house is strongly desired). Must have excellent academic credentials. Be admitted to practice in the State of Florida. Have the ability to work independently and communicate effectively (both in writing and over the phone/Zoom). Must be organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities and duties. Member of the Florida Bar or Authorized In-House Counsel in the State of Florida is needed.
