Executive Assistant/Paralegal Duties: Booking and organizing travel. Manage calendar to balance travel and anticipate and avoid conflicts. Anticipate materials and technology resources needed for all NCC appearances. Prepare Trial Notebooks electronically from documents provided by local counsel. Printing and assembly of trial Notebooks, utilizing local resources. Receive and review monthly reports from local counsel with pending trial dates, settlement, conferences and key due dates. Maintain database and knowledge of all local counsel and matters assigned, maintaining contact and team information. Generate calendar entry forms for Docket. Receive and review the NCC Calendar report on a weekly basis. Enter all Trial Dates in Case Management system (FMP) including jurisdiction, trial date, first chair, trial risk and summary. Become fully versed on PACE web-based case management system -- update PACE as needed and pull reports as needed. Coordinate pro hac vice process for NCC trial appearances including ordering certificates of good standing and making sure local counsel receives all needed information. Provide expert retention assistance to NCC paralegal for scheduling, confirming, processing payments, and ensuring local counsel provides information as necessary for experts. Notarize documents as needed. Provide a variety of administrative duties including timely preparation of expense reports and weekly input of NCC s narrative on billable activity. Prepare correspondence as requested or required. Arrange conference calls as required. Ensures that all matters requiring attention in the absence of the NCC are referred to the proper person for handling.

Qualifications: A qualified candidate would have knowledge of litigation, discovery and trial processes. Legal Secretary or Paralegal experience would be ideal. Asbestos experience would be a plus. In addition to a legal background, strong executive, organization and travel planning skills are necessary. Detailed-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and a diverse workload.
