Job Overview:
A reputable law firm located in Madison, WI, is seeking a mid-level attorney with a strong background in commercial transactional and real estate law. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex real estate matters, including acquisitions, development, and financing of commercial properties. Duties:

  • Advise clients on a variety of commercial real estate matters, including acquisition, sale, development, and financing of properties.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of real estate agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and development contracts.
  • Handle complex title reviews, permitting, construction matters, and zoning issues.
  • Assist in the creation of corporate structures, including tax planning and strategies related to real estate transactions.
  • Represent clients in the formation and ongoing representation of condominium associations.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for real estate transactions.
  • Provide practical, creative solutions for clients in the real estate and business sectors.
  • Work closely with clients, partners, and colleagues to ensure smooth transaction processes and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial transactions, development, financing, and leasing.
  • Expertise in negotiating and drafting complex real estate contracts and documents.
  • Knowledge of real estate law, including title review, construction law, zoning, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively in resolving legal challenges.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Wisconsin (or ability to obtain license promptly).

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate transactions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize complex legal matters.
  • Familiarity with environmental, zoning, and tax issues in real estate law.
