Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Responsible for handling prospecting new client calls, potential client follow-up calls, existing client calls, all inbound calls, scanning, filing, and E-fling. Welcome clients by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquires. Produces information by inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting data. Conserves attorneys time by reviewing and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; organizing client conferences and attorney meetings; scheduling process service, court reports, expert witnesses, and other special functions.. Generates revenue by documenting and inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses; preparing invoices; tracking payments. Managing Firm calendar by recoding and monitoring court appearance dates, statute of limitations, etc.. Enhances trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed; taking courtroom notes. Familiarity with the basics of a litigation related practice (sending out routine correspondence, familiarity with contacting the court & opposing counsel for adjournments, etc. Handle marketing efforts (blog postings), managing office supply orders.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: BS or BA degree from an accredited College or Univeristy. Associate’s degree from an acredited college. Relevant education (paralegal studies, legal studies, legal assistant/secretary certificate, etc.). Notary Republic. Billing Experience (sending out invoices and following up Accounts Receivable). 3 years of experience working for a law firm, who is energetic, organized, and disciplined. Preferred: Proven ability to multi-task and set priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working with high net-worth clients. Experienced working in a small law firm setting, preferably Matrimonial Law, Family Law or both. Tech savvy (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Clio, Lexicata, Family Law Software, & Drafting Libraries). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. IOS Systems & Internet Research.
