Legal Assistant (Ethics and Compliance, Labor and Employment) The candidate will coordinate with external counsel and internal colleagues to help manage administrative and legal matters by conducting research, gathering documents, collecting information, and scheduling interviews, depositions and mediations. Will assist with monitoring and reporting recent compliance and employment law trends to department and management; provide updates on trends and changes in legislation as needed. With supervision of assigned, in-house employment attorney, conduct case-relevant investigations and prepare position statements and exhibits in response to administrative charges. Oversee and manage research and other projects by outside firms to completion. Draft and distribute clear, precise and well-written internal and external communications. Provide timely, clearly written and relevant information in response to legal inquiries. Create, manage and distribute reports in an efficient manner. Create form documents and templates and make recommendations regarding standardized and best practices to facilitate processes, procedures and policies. Develop and document internal processes and procedures and assist with implementation procedures. Manage vendor relationships, including selection, onboarding and billing. Assist in electronic discovery process by creating and distributing legal holds, tracking legal holds and custodians as they change positions or leave the Company, assessing when holds can be lifted, in consultation with attorney supervisors, and communicating with hold recipients regarding status. Support overall litigation management including maintaining litigation files and settlement documentation. Organize and manage events, such as legal conferences, meetings and training sessions. Coordinate distribution of department materials. Organize and maintain efficient filing systems and manage documents. Assist with payment and tracking of vendor invoices. Prepare and edit presentations, spreadsheets and other documents, including proofreading for errors and enhancements to improve professionalism and impact. Arrange travel, process expenses, manage calendars, perform notary duties, purchase supplies, support department memberships, and perform other administrative duties as needed.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have 5-7 years of relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm. Must have work history of maintaining high ethical standards and personal integrity. Must have detailed-oriented with strong organization, execution and project management skills. Must have knowledge of litigation procedures and general legal processes. BA/BS undergraduate degree with excellent academic accomplishment and notary license a plus.
