Paralegal / Legal Assistant The candidate will prepare drafts of contracts, legal documents and correspondence. Will assist in the organization, administration and maintenance of all contacts. Day-to-day oversight of the contract administration process. Preparation and dissemination of information to appropriate parties regarding contract status. Coordinating claims management activities, including handling incident reports, gathering information for personal injury claims, reviewing and assisting in the response to complaints and discovery request as well as monitoring claims with the insurance broker, insurance companies and outside legal staff. Establishing a system for efficient management and review of insurance certificates submitted by Authority customers and contractors. Provide paralegal assistance in project oriented assignments. Act as a liaison between the Legal Department and Authority staff, customers, outside attorneys, brokers, and agencies. Manage the Legal Department including the organization of files, maintenance of a tickler system and scheduling appointments. Become familiar with the policies and procedures of the Authority. Keep abreast of developments in the paralegal and risk management fields by attendance at seminars and professional meetings. Perform such other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy General Counsel. High School Diploma is required. Paralegal Certificate highly is preferred. Should have 3-5 years of paralegal experience. High Level of proficiency in MS Work, Excel, Outlook and Westlaw is needed. Must possess excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills, accurate and strong attention to detail, high level of organization, strong verbal and interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Maintain a professional attitude in the performance of the day to day activities.
