Senior Counsel - Commercial The candidate will be part of a team of corporate attorneys in the Commercial Legal Team responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to support Citizens Bank’s Treasury Solutions business. This business offers cash management, trade and supply chain finance, commercial card, merchant acquiring sponsorship and merchant services to our clients. Will report to the Head of the Commercial Legal Team in the Legal Department who reports to the General Counsel. Interact very closely with the Treasury Solutions business line senior management as well as other support units across the enterprise. Responsible for providing legal advice, assisting the business in interpreting law and regulations, reviewing and drafting legal documentation, and deal and contract negotiation support to the business line in connection with all of the transaction types outlined above. Should have 8+ years previous experience advising clients in either a law firm or in house. Must have experience with advising a Treasury Solutions/Cash Management/Payments business line in a financial institution or financial services business. Should have ability to handle multiple tasks, take on new responsibilities and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment. Must have ability to understand and integrate details of business/operational/systemic environment in applying legal and policy requirements. Experience identifying, evaluating and escalating legal risk issues required. Must have strong communication skills to deal with internal and external constituents, including senior business leaders; external counsel; regulatory officials; risk, compliance and audit counterparts at the organization; counterparts at other companies; and industry representatives. Must have JD from an accredited law school.
