Internship Program
Interns will work with the Foundation’s development team to learn the techniques of fundraising in the competitive non-profit world in a wide variety of areas – fundraising, communications, film, events, and law. As a valued member of team, will help plan and participate in development events and solicitations, write development materials, talk with donors, draft donor communications, process daily contributions, and conduct donor research. Will be excited to work as a production assistant, schedule coordinator, setup crew, speaker liaison, and/or travel planner for our recently re-designed events team. As Policy interns, will be assigned to one of the Foundation’s policy centers and work directly with a center director or policy analyst. Will meet with policymakers, engage in regular policy discussions, conduct in-depth research, and receive extensive feedback on written products. Outstanding writing may be selected for publication as a blog post, op-ed, or policy brief. As Communications interns, will be part of daily conversations surrounding the Foundation’s podcast, video productions, traditional and digital media reach, and general communications activities. Will have the opportunity to learn first-hand how our marketing and digital campaigns work to expand beliefs of liberty, personal responsibility, and free enterprise. Will work with Digital Director to track analytics, update the website, monitor social media, and make recommendations for expanding our online community. Will also have the opportunity to network with media professionals, attend staff meetings, and participate in premier hosted events. Must be current students, recent graduates, or students between semesters who are flexible, project-oriented self-starters. Can exemplify personal responsibility and the entrepreneurial spirit, and have good research, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Period: January 15 through May 17
Deadline: October 28
