Paralegal - Compliance Specialist The candidate will provide a broad range of corporate, regulatory and research support for the legal department, including maintenance of licensure for firm's 1200 retail locations and management of the corporate books and records. Will manage the licensure/permitting process for retail stores and maintain the related database. Ensure compliance with annual filing requirements for US and Canadian subsidiaries. Maintain corporate books and records, including an online legal entity data management platform. Process legal invoices. Prepare documentation for internal corporate reorganizations and formation of new subsidiaries. Process invoices payments for the legal department. Assist in general administrative matters related to investigations, litigation support, etc. Special projects as may be directed by the legal department. Review and ensure filings are accurate, timely and appropriately made. Assist with the maintenance of template documents used by business teams and corporate attorneys. Collect and organize documents for litigation. Assist attorneys in conducting contract research or reviews, including document collection, and drafting correspondence to customers. Assist with management of contract related projects if needed (i.e. obtaining written consents from clients, collaborating on responses to requests for proposals, etc.). Create, maintain and update index of active matters. Bachelor degree or equivalent is needed. Paralegal Certification is required. Should have 7+ years of relevant experience with an understanding of corporate compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel is needed. Prior law firm or in-house experience with corporate attorneys is a plus. Must possess strong organizational, project/process management, written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels within an organization, including with senior management.
