Corporate Counsel - Employment Policy and Compliance The candidate will be the company's subject matter expert on all employment law compliance and policy matters for headquarters and the company's national field operations, and report to the company's Associate General Counsel (Labor, Employment and Driver Policy). Will work closely with the company's Legal, People and Culture and Field Operations teams to create and maintain best in class strategies, policies and procedures. Partner with the People (HR) Team and business leaders to evaluate legal risk and provide subject matter expertise on a broad range of employment issues, including: recruiting and hiring, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, compensation and benefits, wage and hour, workplace investigations, terminations, and contingent workforce matters. Draft and revise employment-related agreements, templates, policies, and procedures, such as offer letters, confidentiality/restrictive covenant agreements, and handbooks, and implement controls throughout the organization with respect thereto. Conduct internal audits, classification reviews, and other efforts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws throughout the country. Investigate and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries (e.g., EEOC, DOL, NLRB, and other state/local agencies). Develop and conduct training and education programs for employees, supervisors, and the People (HR) Team. Monitor important employment law developments across the country. Work with internal clients to solve legal, risk and business issues. Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects. Populate and maintain internal reports and data sets on HR trends and developments. Must be in good standing and be admitted to a US State Bar. Should have 6 years of legal experience focused on employment and labor with preferably 1-2 years of in-house experience.
