Legal Assistant - Civil Litigation/Insurance Defense Duties: Order and organize medical and employment records. Maintain a very busy calendar. Prepare documents for production. Communicate with the insurance adjusters, clients and other counsel. Coordinate investigation of claims, initial drafts of discovery, analyze and responds to incoming discovery and summarize case specific documents. Handle small matters with little to no oversight and/or direction and handle medium size matters with some oversight and direction. Prepare for trial, including witness and exhibit lists. Send documents to retained experts.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Previous law firm experience, 2-3 years, insurance defense preferred. Strong knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat is required. E-file in both state and federal courts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with teammates as well as clients.
