ProfileBankruptcy Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the attorneys and staff with all stages of Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, as well as adversary proceedings. Will maintain and organize files, input and maintain client filed in BestCase software, interact with clients under attorney supervision, work as a team member managing the flow of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases, and prepare motions, applications, and draft and revise pleadings. Monitor and track new bankruptcy cases through all life cycle stages of the file. Provide prompt, helpful and clear Client, Creditor, Trustee and court staff communication on all files. Prepare initial draft of petitions using BestCase software. Prepare initial drafts of pleadings, motions, affidavits and letters. Ensure proper calendaring of appearances and deadlines. Follow up with clients, opposing counsel, Trustees, court staff, and third parties on unfulfilled requests. Distribution of mail and electronic correspondence. Requesting original documents from clients. Monitoring of case filings in CM/ECF. Must have Degree from an accredited college or university, paralegal certificate, or relevant work experience as a bankruptcy paralegal. Should have 2 years of experience. Proficiency with WordPerfect and MS Office (Word and Excel) is required. Proficiency with numbers and basic accounting is essential.
