Law Student
Intern - Legal The intern will work with the Unaccompanied Children Program. Will conduct legal research and writing on a range of topics that will support expansion of pro bono legal access and successful outcomes for children's legal cases. Assist in planning, in consultation with the team, conference calls, webinars, on-line discussions and other technical assistance projects in order to assist network providers in promoting successful outcomes for unaccompanied child clients. Assist in the development, review, and editing of technical assistance materials. Thoughtfully brainstorm solutions for challenges experienced by legal service providers. Assist on other projects as assigned. Should be a law student with demonstrated interest in a public interest advocacy, government, or policy-related position. Demonstrated knowledge of immigration, juvenile justice, or child welfare justice issues is required. A desire to effectuate change in partnership with the government is needed. Strong legal writing and research skills are essential. Should have a demonstrated commitment to racial equity. Strong PowerPoint, and other computer skills are a must. Fluency in verbal and written Spanish is a strong plus (proficiency in other languages is a plus). Internship Period: June 8 to August 14, with some flexibility to accommodate school schedules
