Intellectual Property - General
2-5 yrs required
Intellectual Property Paralegal The candidate will review and organize files and review docket for deadlines. Will prioritize workload to meet foreign filing deadlines and due dates. Prepare and review appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to clients and associates regarding new applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assist in filing of US and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents). Process office actions. File and assist in prosecution of design applications. Track chain of title in US patents and ability to perfect same. Communicate with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases. Prepare, maintain and update reports for clients regarding status of applications and patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications, publication notices and forward patent certificates.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have 2-5 years of intellectual property experience and prior foreign filing experience with strong computer and research skills. General knowledge of IP filing and prosecution rules/regulations is required. Experience using CPI docketing software is a plus. Extensive knowledge of U.S. patent rules and procedures is essential. Knowledge of PCT and/or national laws of other countries is needed. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
