Property Tax Specialist The candidate will be responsible for internal monthly and quarterly state & local property tax status reports. Review foreclosure sales report and update to ensure accurate state & local property tax status. Perform research on tax and foreclosure matters, such as analyzing tax certifications, tax sales, and tax foreclosures, etc. Communicate via phone with applicable state & local property tax jurisdictions when necessary. Manage, respond to and resolve state & local property tax status questions. Review third party servicers’ default, tax and suspense reports. Review and identify tax issues in Title Reports. Coordinate with third party servicers to ensure accurate tax status of properties. Orders BPOs for potential take-back properties. Order, facilitate and track occupancy checks, cash for keys and lock outs. Assist with facilities related projects. Update and Maintain Asset Inventory. Track properties converted to REO for foreclosure sale deeds and evictions, if needed. Manages assessment vendors and ensures accurate invoicing. Maintain SLAs for the department. Write and send notices, correspondence and updates to clients and third party servicer. Identify issues in foreclosure process related to state & local property tax status and expedite resolution. Exhibit strong initiative and attention to detail and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Update internal systems as needed. Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Legal studies required. 3-4 years of Mortgage Banking or Mortgage Default Servicing experience required. Knowledge and understanding of the foreclosure process required. Ability to prioritize and manage numerous responsibilities concurrently required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred. Working legal knowledge of foreclosure and real estate transactions preferred. Paralegal background preferred. Preferred experience with LPS. Excellent: analytical, problem solving, and communication skills; written and verbal communication skills required. Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel required.
