Our Syracuse, NY office seeks a paralegal with 2-5 years of experience in the defense litigation field. Experience with Asbestos/Toxic Tort related work preferred. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of trial binders

  • Scheduling of depositions, IMEs, mediationsCoordinating witnesses for trial

  • Maintaining case calendars

  • Subpoenaing records

  • E-filing

  • Medical Chronologies

  • Page Line Summaries

  • Drafting of deposition notices, praecipes, and entries of appearance


  • Knowledge of state and local rules of civil procedure

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Billing Experience

  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently

There needs to be leadership classes for management. High levels of ego affect management in giving their best leadership skills to their staff. Staff members who perform well should be compensated with a higher salary.

Pros : The firm pushes the aspects of individual and career development. Many opportunities are presented in order to learn and gain experience. The staff is very co-operative.
Cons : Some of the benefits are not available during holidays. In some cases, staff members who perform well are not rewarded. The salary is low. A lack of communication affects the firm.
