Data Privacy Law Lead, Associate General Counsel The candidate will serve as the firm’s lead Privacy Attorney overseeing the firm’s compliance with global data privacy laws and as a key business partner to the firm’s Information Services Team to develop practical, timely solutions to challenging data-privacy and cybersecurity issues. Supervise and manage the team working on data privacy-related legal issues. Keep abreast of changes and developments in global data privacy laws and adapt the firm’s program to ensure compliance with such laws. Draft and keep updated firm policies on data privacy issues and work with other legal functions to draft and update contractual provisions related to data privacy. Create training and awareness materials to help educate company employees on issues related to compliance with global data privacy laws. Provide advice and counsel to leaders across the firm on issues related to data privacy and protection and operate from a continuous improvement mindset to ensure that Company’s data privacy program evolves with changes in the law and regulatory landscape. 8+ years of experience with providing advice and counsel on issues related to global data privacy laws required. Experience with GDPR, including DSARs, CCPA, Federal Privacy Act and HIPAA and data privacy laws required. Experience with data mapping, access and user management policy implementation, and other elements of data governance in a complex corporate environment required. Experience with counseling, compliance, and transactions and overseeing data privacy issues related to mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration required. Experience with compliance matters and interacting with regulators required. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize and manage workload, simultaneous tasks, and meet deadlines in a changing, fast-paced environment required. Ability to work with other compliance professionals and build strong relationships with leaders across the business and to communicate effectively with various audiences across the company required. JD degree required. Experience with government contracts and the professional services industry required. Experience in a large law firm or corporate law department required. Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills required. Possession of excellent analytical skills required.
