Associate - Legal The candidate will coordinate with internal and external counsel to develop and implement the litigation and discovery strategy for each legal matter. Manage all aspects of the litigation discovery process, including internal fact gathering throughout the company, preparation of Rule 26(f) disclosures, development of case management plan, negotiation of ESI protocols, search term analytics, protective orders, written discovery responses, eDiscovery, witness coordination, and document collection, processing, review and production. Coordinate with counsel on substantive motions and briefs, including the identification of relevant individuals to sign supporting affidavits and the preparation of such affidavits. Function as project manager to facilitate regular meetings/conference calls with internal and external counsel and to track all deadlines, decisions, and action items to completion. Provide onsite legal support during any litigation trials. Coordinate with Lilly attorney and Procurement to negotiate alternative fee arrangements with outside counsel and develop budget tracking to monitor progress. Review and approve outside counsel invoices and financial forecasting. Manage pre-litigation claims and/or 3rd party subpoenas. Focus on continuous improvement of processes to incorporate evolution of best practices and other efficiencies in SOPs. Bachelor’s Degree is essential. Should have 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably pharmaceutical or medical device. Solid understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is a plus. Should preferably have eDiscovery or large scale electronic document production experience. Application deadline: 15 June, 2018.
