Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Transcribing, formatting and proofreading pleadings, correspondence and other documents (typically 2-3 day turnaround required). Assisting attorneys in discovery and trial preparation. Maintaining calendar of filing deadlines, court dates and client appointments. Communicating with clients. Researching statutes and court rules as needed.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: High school diploma required; paralegal certificate preferred. 1+ years of experience working for a law firm, preferably in family law. Experience with electronic filing of legal pleadings. Knowledge of family law and court rules. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Outlook and Google calendar. Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to details and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time. Ability to work effectively with clients and co-workers of different cultural and economic backgrounds. High professional and ethical standards.
