HR Generalist-Employment
The candidate will provides generalized support in various functional areas of Human Resources including hiring, recruitment, employment records, new hire orientation, and special projects. Coordinate the hiring and recruitment process for company positions, establish recruitment options, conduct interviews, research candidates, and oversee hiring documentation, applicant logs and job posting logs. Conduct background checks on applicants. Counsel managers, employees, and applicants regarding open positions, the hiring process, and employment policies. Coordinate employment related programs. Interview eligible applicants, oversee placement of candidates, coordinate projects, implement intern partnerships with local not-for-profit agencies and research and coordinate international opportunities in compliance with work comp and payroll laws. Participate in first-day orientation program for new hires including employment forms completion, survey of company policies and procedures, and a comprehensive tour of the Brotherhood Mutual home office facility. Research new techniques and suggest enhancements to hiring, recruitment and internship procedures. Assist in preparing bi-weekly payroll reports. Complete other projects as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must maintain absolute confidentiality. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have proven interpersonal skills. Must possess strong organizational skills and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines. Must possess solid understanding of social media employment and recruiting techniques. Must have the ability to understand and apply rules governing the use of employee benefits. Must have excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS software. Must be accurate with details. Must have a bachelor’s degree majoring in business, finance, human resources, or related field. Must have 2+ years of human resources, legal, claims or other “high contact” office environment experience. Professional certification in human resources management, benefit administration, insurance, or legal/paralegal would be desired. Over three years of experience in human resources or legal would be helpful. Previous experience with interviewing, compensation, or recruitment is desired.
