ProfileParalegal II The candidate will be assisting attorneys in all aspects of legal matter preparation and file management including legal research, drafting routine documents and collection of information relevant to cases. May conduct routine investigations and review and analyze various reports, responses and records. Responsible for performing a variety of moderately complex projects to support Law Department business professionals on a wide range of legal functions. Ensures that legal services provided are cost-effective, practical, and consistent with the companyâ€™s philosophies. Delivers on law department business goals. Ensures that the law department implements leading practices and operates at the highest ethical and governance standards. Support Attorneys with labor and employment and litigation matters. Support legal and business unit personnel, as needed. Filing court documents electronically. Preparing and monitoring the service of the complaints. Tack and manage the Companyâ€™s caseload of employment and EEOC cases. Drafting and filing EEOC responses. Drafting various correspondence and legal documents. Work with clients and assist in responding to discovery requests. Compile and organize discovery responses. Conducting legal research on various employment issues. Ensure projects are properly reviewed and timely actions are taken for each project. Reviews legal matter records, gathers necessary data, and updates the legal matter progress. Depending on the study and analysis of the matters, gives oral presentations and also prepares case reports. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions and legal codes to prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc. for use by attorney. Draft routine legal documents for review and use by attorneys. Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial. Categorize and interpret data; review and analyze reports, responses and records produced for cases and legal matters. Conduct investigations as needed and directed. Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in legal matters by way of consistent communication with business partners and attorneys through life of project or matter. Analyzes the available data and suggests some of the best solutions to solve a problem or case. Provide solutions and suggested methods of handling projects. Coordinate with other USS personnel outside Law Department to ensure proper handling of projects. Prepare and organize documents for and assist in corporate and commercial transactions including contracts, agreements, certificates, checklists and other documents. Support the General Counsel with assigned matters. Suggest and develop procedures for handling of projects to increase Law Department efficiencies. Other duties as assigned. Must have Associates Degree from an accredited college in the paralegal program or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred. Should have 4+ years paralegal experience. Must have Corporate paralegal experience gained in an in-house or law firm environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word. Should be proficient in Westlaw and Lexus Nexus online research. Must be experienced with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
