IN-HOUSE CORPORATE COUNSEL OPPORTUNITY WITH A DYNAMIC, RAPIDLY GROWING COMPANY!
As General Counsel of Fairway America, LLC, I am looking for the right candidate to fill an in-house corporate counsel position with our rapidly growing company. Specifically, I am looking for a smart, driven junior attorney who can work closely with me to help manage the Fairway America group of companies’ legal affairs, including compliance with various securities laws and related regulations, drafting offering and related documents for Fairway’s private investment funds and real estate syndications, and generally handling all of Fairway’s various other corporate legal matters.
Fairway America and its related companies do great real estate deals with the best people in the middle market commercial real estate space. We do this by, among other things, operating our own pooled investment funds and syndications and working with great real estate entrepreneurs to fund and manage real estate projects across the United States. As a result of these activities, Fairway has to draft a variety of offering and other documents and actively monitor and comply with a wide variety of compliance rules and regulations, including regulations relating to Registered Investment Advisor regulations, Broker Dealers, private securities offerings, Investment Company Act compliance, banking and financing regulations, and many others. All of this, of course, is in addition to the other corporate and legal issues that any company must address, including contracting, human resources and employment law issues, insurance coverage, etc.
As Fairway has grown, our needs for on-going legal and compliance services have outgrown the capacity of Fairway’s legal department (currently me, one other in-house attorney, and a senior paralegal) to provide those services. I and the rest of Fairway’s management team anticipate that Fairway and its related companies will continue to grow rapidly over the next several years. In order to meet Fairway’s extensive and growing legal needs, I am looking to hire a strong in-house junior corporate counsel to help me and the rest of my team manage all aspects of Fairway’s legal and compliance affairs.

The person hired to fill this position will work closely with Fairway’s General Counsel and other legal team member to help manage all of Fairway’s legal and compliance issues and affairs. The position will report to the company’s General Counsel and will be located in Portland, Oregon. The exact parameters of the position will be shaped over time, as the Company grows and adapts, and in order to take full advantage of the particular skill set of the person hired for the position.
