Legal Assistant / Paralegal The candidate should have 5-8 years of heavy litigation experience in the fields of insurance, commercial, and general civil litigation. Must have experience in the handling Federal and State Court Dockets, as well as have the ability to assist in the preparation of appellate court briefs, indexes, footnotes, and case citing process. Must have trial experience, electronic filing experience, the ability to prepare trial and hearing notebooks, assimilate and prepare exhibits, draft pleadings and discovery, answer discovery, summarize depositions, medical records, and other records. Should have the ability to organize files, understand insurance carrier guidelines and billing requirements, as well as prepare reports to insurance carriers and clients. Must possess excellent organizational and communication/grammar skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and willing to learn litigation management programs. Legal Assistant Certification and/or Paralegal Certification is required. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
