Paralegal Duties: Provide expertise, support, and assistance to attorneys in healthcare and medical malpractice defense litigation practice: Perform general case management including file maintenance, document organization, and recordkeeping. Work in partnership with Litigation Support Department and serve as case contact. Communicate with and provide materials to experts. Request, review, analyze, and summarize medical and employment records. Coordinate and schedule IMEs. Coordinate witnesses and serve as point of contact. Develop and implement workflow systems, procedures, and standards. Support attorneys with trial preparation. Prepare and execute subpoenas. Prepare and coordinate document productions. Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and external agencies. Contribute to a positive and successful team effort.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience. 3+ years’ litigation paralegal experience. Strong technical skills including MS Office, document management, and litigation support technologies. Proven ability to identify appropriate technologies and apply to workflow and practice group needs. Track record of creating and maintaining workflow and recordkeeping systems to support the efficient production of work. Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills. Attentive to detail and highly accurate. Able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Able to take initiative and anticipate what needs to be done. Highly professional and able to effectively engage with internal and external contacts. Can understand and follow specific, detailed instructions. Strong commitment to quality client service.
