ProfileParalegal - Contract The candidate assists with the administration and coordination of the legal, compliance and privacy activities of the Company on a world-wide basis. Works in close cooperation with other departments, educating them on contract review process, compliance policies and procedures. Implements the organization's policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance and regulatory affairs. Researches issues related to complicated legal documents, including contracts, and makes suggestions for alterations of those documents. Assists with collections. Anticipates and mitigates potential legal problems within the organization and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. Assists with Company’s implementation of its GDPR and privacy regulations. Primary responsibilities consist in assisting with corporate secretary matters, maintaining intellectual property assets as well as managing outside counsel on trademark and patent renewal matters, preparing routine agreements and legal instruments, coordinating and maintaining legal department electronic portfolios for intellectual property, privacy, and collections matters. Bachelor’s degree is required. Must have 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1+ year and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience. Typical range is 2-5 years. Experience with corporate matters (e.g., privacy compliance, entity formation, board meeting preparation, etc.) is essential. IP and software licensing experience is a huge plus. Must have full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Must have strong computer skills including proficiency with database software, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
