Senior Paralegal - Transactional Contracts Responsibilities: Independently perform a variety of complex paralegal duties that includes in-depth legal research, negotiations, writing opinions, and the preparation of legal documents with limited supervision. Drafting contracts, correspondence, ordinances, resolutions, and requests for council action. Reviewing contractor-supplied evidence of insurance for compliance with contractual requirements. Performing confidential and sensitive assignments for the City Attorney and other attorneys. Performing other administrative or paralegal responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Minimum Qualifications: A high school Diploma or a GED Certificate and a Certificate in paralegal or legal assistant studies. An Associate’s Degree may be substituted for the above certification requirement. Above-average academic performance is preferred. 5+ years of experience as a paralegal at a comparable professional organization. An additional 2+ years of paralegal experience may be substituted for the Certificate in paralegal or legal assistant studies. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with multiple attorneys on transactional matters. Proficiency with the Office 365 suite of programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, OneDrive Business, and electronic legal research tools such as Westlaw Edge, Practical Law, and Drafting Assistant. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong drafting, research, and writing skills. Ability to work under pressure and without close supervision, and to independently produce error-free documents.
