Paralegal/Legal Assistant I - Superior Court The candidate will perform WALES Check on Witnesses. Will order Grand Jury/ Court Transcripts- save information in Litigation Services portal; CANS/E-CANS Officers. Creates subpoenas.. Mail out subpoenas for civilian witnesses. Provide AUSA with Witness vouchers. File Motions with the Judge’s Chambers. Completes court runs. Closes out files (closed files). Provide AUSAs with witness vouchers. Complete administrative, legal assistant and paralegal tasks. Must have paralegal certificate. Must have 1+ year of litigation paralegal experience. A trial experience is very helpful. Automated litigation support experience is valued. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Must have basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.
