Job Overview: A law firm based in Portland, OR is seeking a highly skilled Liquor Attorney to work with a diverse range of clients in the alcohol, beverage, and cannabis industries. The successful candidate will play a key role in collaborating with and managing a talented team of attorneys while providing exceptional client service in a collegial office environment.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on licensing, trade practice compliance, distribution, contracts, and dispute resolution in the alcohol, beverage, and cannabis sectors.
  • Collaborate with and help manage a team of attorneys across the Firm’s offices.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support clients' business goals.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and legal developments.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service and communication.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in liquor law matters.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage significant individual responsibilities and contribute to team success.

Education:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.

Skills:

  • Exceptional client-service approach and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage a diverse group of attorneys.
  • Enthusiasm for working with and building a diverse team.
  • FDA experience and a partial book of business are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a client-focused mindset.
