The candidate is responsible for preparation of drafting legal correspondence, documents, pleadings, and discovery. Request and retrieve medical and non-medical records. Organize, index, and maintain medical and other non-medical documents. Summarize medical and non-medical records. Summarize deposition and trial transcripts. Assist and/or attend document reviews and productions. Contact with clients, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, co-counsel, court personnel and third-parties. Ability to manage information and stay abreast of new developments and deadlines in multiple cases. Preparation of notebooks for witnesses and/or trial preparation. Assist in the preparation and gathering and organizing expert material. Assist in preparation of deposition and trial subpoenas. Preparation of exhibits for motion practice, trials and arbitrations. Assist in motion and trial preparation, as needed. Perform projects and tasks as directed.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-Accredited Program or institution. 6 years of experience in Litigation Defense work, preferably in medical malpractice litigation is needed. Proven attention to detail with strong organizational skills are must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2016 and Windows 10 is required. Experience with Aderant, or other comparable time and billing software is necessary. Ability to meet and potentially exceed minimum billable hour requirements is critical. Experience with reviewing/summarizing medical records and/or having a medical background is a plus. Experience with document management software, such as IManage, or any other comparable document management software is necessary. Ability to work under pressure with any and all litigation deadlines and/or attorney-imposed deadlines is necessary.
