Tenant Rights’ Attorney The candidate will be representing tenants in unlawful detainer proceedings (e.g. law and motion proceedings, court-mandated settlement conferences, and jury trials). Will be representing tenants in administrative proceedings (e.g. Oakland Rent Adjustment Program, Hayward Rent Stabilization Board, Richmond Rent Board, etc.). Providing and/or supervising consultations at various weekly Tenants’ Rights clinics. Conducting Know Your Rights trainings. Providing policy analysis to community partners who are advocating for anti-displacement measures. Representing firm and its clients at community events, stakeholder meetings, City Council hearings, etc. Rising 3L or JD degree is required. Must be admitted and in good standing with a State Bar or planning to take CA Bar exam upon graduation or currently awaiting Bar results. Must have excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Proficiency or fluency in Spanish, Cantonese and Vietnamese highly preferred.
