Senior Fiduciary Specialist The candidate will work collaboratively with Sr. Compliance Officer, Team Leads, and Trust Administration Officers, Administrators and Associates regarding issues and inquiries which arise that necessitate a legal review for assessing fiduciary risk to TCTC. Review governing documents to provide a thorough fiduciary risk assessment, as part of the pre-acceptance process, in order for TCTC Team Leads/Senior Management to assess acceptance of new business by TCTC as Trustee and/or Co-Trustee. Propose and assist in special projects in support of department and fiduciary risk management initiatives. Ability to exercise sound judgment, spot issues and collaborate to recommend appropriate and timely solutions. Work collaboratively with TCTC Compliance to review, revise, and draft updates and modifications to TCTC Policy and Procedures Manual. Work closely with TCTC Compliance, Team Leads, and Trust Administration Officers and Associates during internal and external audits to assist in timely responses and where appropriate collaborate on remediation efforts post-exam(s). On-going training of staff on policies, procedures and best practices. Track litigation and summons reports and provide updates to management and/or designated committees. Develop correspondence templates for companywide initiatives, as directed, by TCTC Compliance and/or Senior Management. Act as a resource to Trust Officers for questions arising in administration and document review. Consult with outside attorneys, accountants, and other Centers of Influence in managing and controlling risk. Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. (and at least one license to practice law preferred) and 2-3 years of legal practice experience. Knowledge of trust, estate and guardianship administration. Familiarity with income, estate, gift and GST tax is a plus. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Keen ability to identify high-risk issues. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people. Effective at working in a team environment, collaborative, and respectful of others. Effective computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint; comfortable learning new software packages (banking-related). Motivated, solution-oriented and a self-starter; independent thinking is encouraged. Excellent organizational skills (able to handle multiple priorities). Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
