Project Assistant
The candidate compiles and analyzes data on economic, social and physical factors affecting land use, and prepares or requisitions graphic and narrative reports on data. Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists regarding land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, industrial and community uses. Assembles and coordinates land use application preparation – requires effective communication with Firm staff, supervising attorney, and agency representatives. Conducts due diligence including zoning and other property level matters. (seems high level). Files documents with the various NYC land-use agencies and Recorder’s offices. Presents information effectively to lawyers and clients and responds to questions. Performs electronic research using the Internet. Corresponds with clients and organizations, in writing, by telephone or electronic communications, as directed by the supervising attorney. Enters time and descriptions into DTE and release it on a daily basis. The above items represent major responsibilities of this position. Additional responsibilities may be included in order to respond to a changing environment and the Firm’s needs.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree (top 20% of Top Tier undergraduate school preferred). Notary License preferred. Should have proven ability to communicate in written form, including emails, letters and memoranda, to lawyers, clients, and government representatives. Proven ability to analyze data and present findings in a clear and concise way. Should have proficiency with Word, Excel, Power point, pdf, graphics and data management. Should have ability to maintain confidences as well as build confidences and trust with lawyers, peers and clients. Should have ability to independently organize large amounts of data, both hardcopy and electronic, into an easily retrievable system. Should have ability to be flexible, handle pressure and adapt to changing work priorities, work flow and work assignments.
